Just Because - Emotions and the River Song

Emotions are just as much a part of us as is our skin, ears, eyes, and each breath that we take.  Emotions create our heart song.   Going deep within, they create a foundation for us to embrace life and love.  And with this song, we express our individuality; we create synergy in life.  This scenario is the epitome.  But sometimes, we get out of synch with this powerful force.  Sometimes, the rain falls.  This is another way of saying that all in life is not about smiles and joy.  Sometimes, there is pain.  Instead of embracing life and all that comes with it, we block it.  Instead of living through the pain, which is also a manifestation of emotion, we lash out.  When we lash out, there is the potential to harm self and to harm others that we love and love us.  Being out of synch drains us.  It affects our lifestyle, the choices we make, and ultimately, our capacity to give and receive love.

But if we go with the river song, we understand that those things that cause us pain will subside.  Understanding this gives us strength.  We can’t discount them as if it never existed just as we can’t dismiss the tumultuous waves of the water.  If we flow like the river song, it is easy for us understand the crests and relish in the fact that there will be calm waters again.

Strength In The Walk

by on Mar.25, 2010, under Poetic Moments

Strong enough to walk beside you

It is there, that we are balanced.

Strong enough to follow you

For I honor your lead.

Strong enough to bear your burdens

I am there to lend my shoulder.

Strong enough to say carry me

For I may need to be cuddled for a mile.

Serenity and Dreams of Our Light

by on Jan.30, 2010, under Poetic Moments

Pillars of light
Standing side by side
Blending with the light of the world
Creating blended lights within blended existences
No boundaries – no parameters
Just light, two lights, blending into one.
Side by side, amongst many lights.

Subtleties of the wind, like their flickering paths
Sometimes causing a shift
Sometimes wreaking a havoc
Always bringing peace when it subsides.

Serenity that is as strong as the light
Serenity that is as strong as the collective glow
A single light standing strong for
Serene dreams of the perfection of two.

Dreams of possibilities
Aloft as to where the lights shall shine
The wind blows
Another horizon, a safe place
The creation of other dimensions
Defined, refined, or re-defined.

Serenity that is as strong as the light
Serenity that is as strong as the collective glow
A single light standing strong for
Serene dreams of the perfection of two.

Some lights smolder
Engulfed by illusory beams
Trying to find the path to the true light
Of one, destined to be two.

Serenity that is as strong as the light
Serenity that is as strong as the collective glow
A single light standing strong for
Serene dreams of the perfection of two.

And when the foundations are truly shaped
Like rock and sand
Crystal clear becomes of the dreams of man
The meshing of the lights are invoked.

Serenity that is as strong as the light
Serenity that is as strong as the collective glow
A single light standing strong for
Serene dreams of the perfection of two.

Flowing Tears, Full Heart

by on Jan.15, 2010, under Poetic Moments

It rained for me last night
The emotions came as a wave, engulfing me
Bringing forth the need to overcome, move forward,
and go beyond the horizons; reaching for the setting and rising convergence.

As the tears crested, I braced the storm, only to let the tears flow like a mighty river.

I braced myself, the emotions turbulently held steadfast.
I held steadfast, the emotions quietly subsided.

Relenting, letting the flood flow
Releasing, as a breaking dam
Bringing peace.

Love Begets Love

by on Jan.12, 2010, under Poetic Moments

Eternal feelings,
Internal to the depth of external realities
From the source which nurtures.
Love begets love.

Eyeing, feeling, understanding
Being in the moment
The passion
The realities of that which can claim
the phrase coined love.
Yes, Love still begets love.

Is it defined in a bottle?
No, shatter that.
Is it defined in a lifestyle?
No, break those bounds.
Is it defined in a perception?
Open thine eye.
For love truly begets love; no boundaries.

Is it defined in a moment shared, an hour of knowing, and a lifetime of existing together?
Yes…….love begets shared love in varying contours of life.

About “My Pecan Tree”

by on Dec.24, 2009, under About My Pecan Tree, Welcome to My Pecan Tree

CelesteOpenPecan4AgedaBlurredI grew up amongst a strong pecan tree.  And to this day, it is there that I find my strength.

I am the fruit of  “fertile soil, knotty limbs, hoovering branches, and deep roots.”

It is this tree that gives voice to my poetic soul.  More about “The Pecan Tree” later.

For over thirty years, I have been an HR Professional,  To a degree, I have neglected my poetic side.  But here I am now, wanting to share my voice.

Because of my professional endeavors, I can only claim winning poetry contests.  I have written my first collection of poetry called “Voice from the Soul of Trees”; no longer a work in progress.  The book is real, the words are real, and my desire to share my voice has been fulfilled.

But I am not through.

Come share a spot under  “My Pecan Tree”.
