Just Because - Emotions and the River Song

Emotions are just as much a part of us as is our skin, ears, eyes, and each breath that we take.  Emotions create our heart song.   Going deep within, they create a foundation for us to embrace life and love.  And with this song, we express our individuality; we create synergy in life.  This scenario is the epitome.  But sometimes, we get out of synch with this powerful force.  Sometimes, the rain falls.  This is another way of saying that all in life is not about smiles and joy.  Sometimes, there is pain.  Instead of embracing life and all that comes with it, we block it.  Instead of living through the pain, which is also a manifestation of emotion, we lash out.  When we lash out, there is the potential to harm self and to harm others that we love and love us.  Being out of synch drains us.  It affects our lifestyle, the choices we make, and ultimately, our capacity to give and receive love.

But if we go with the river song, we understand that those things that cause us pain will subside.  Understanding this gives us strength.  We can’t discount them as if it never existed just as we can’t dismiss the tumultuous waves of the water.  If we flow like the river song, it is easy for us understand the crests and relish in the fact that there will be calm waters again.

A Tree Lined Palette

by on Dec.07, 2011, under Poetic Moments

No, not dawn, but on the horizon

My tree lined palette shares a brilliancy

Even in the eve of her awakening

And the dawn of her rest

The moon is not illuminating

But I still see her branches, no my branches

Those sculptured moments that only a tree can shape

Those graceful movements that only a tree can flow with

As they sway with the wind

A panorama in the light of the moon

Casting her mystical and enchanted

Capacity to mold the world

Capturing her hold on me and mankind

If only we see

If only we feel

If only we recognize

That one branch does not make a tree

For there is still the trunk

That  holds her strong

As she remembers

That to shape the world

Is not from something that cannot be broken.

Strength In Nurturing

by on Jan.16, 2010, under Poetic Moments

What keeps us from taking that first step?
How does a child know when he is ready to walk?
How does a heart know when it is ready to love?
How does a soul know when it is ready to live?

Strength in nurturing

Is there a threshold?
Is there a common foundation?
Is there a safe haven?
Is there a sense of peace?

Strength in nurturing

Of the walk, it’s about nurturing.
Of the foundation, it’s about nurturing.
Of the peace, it’s about nurturing.

Strength in being and finding our place is about the nurturing.
